Max is truly
an example of what a shorthair is all about. He has classic style and conformation. To watch Max in the
field is truly a sight of beauty. His casts are effortless; his range maximizes his bird finding abilities. Max
is one of those shorthairs that when he is in the field all eyes are on him. He is extremely stylish and flashy either while
on point or in an honoring situation. Max searches objectives with one purpose that is to find birds. If Max searches a field
and comes up empty you can be assured there are no birds to be found. Max never tires in his pursuit of
game.
Max’s is the product of a selective breeding between
Nobelles Double Trouble Dott MH and Axel von dem Weiden Haus. A careful look at Max’s pedigree will demonstrate just
how special that breeding was. The breeding was the result of careful planning to bring forward the traits
of some of the all time best of the best. Both the Dam and the Sire to Max are personal hunting dogs that
are valued members of the family. Dott and Axel are NAVHDA Prize I maximum score of 204 Utility dogs. Dott
is also an AKC Master Hunter. Along with Dotty’s Utility title comes an AKC Master Hunter title.
Max’s litter carried on the Nobelle tradition in that as with his mother’s litter, this litter also received
a Natural Ability Breeders Award.
Max has proven
himself to excel in the field while under the gun in actual hunting situations. He has an excellent nose, progressing very
easily throughout all of his training. He is a special dog with that rare combination of beauty, intelligence,
nose, and bird- finding ability all the while hunting for the gun. He retrieves softly and quickly to hand. We
were so impressed with the results of Max and his littermates that we decided to repeat that breeding!
Max is owned by Robert Gelder. He is available for stud to selective females
