The quality of your dogs is consistant and outstanding.  The
dedication and detailed attention you give to every aspect of your
breeding program is a tribute to your love for the sport.
Having said that; let me give my testimonial in greater detail.

I have been training, hunting and competing with dogs, both as an
amateur and professional, for over 25 years. When people ask me what
the most important trait to look for in a dog is, I tell them three
things.
Stability, stability, stability. This is what makes Bob's (Nobelle
dogs), so out of the ordinary.
Really, they are quite extraordinary!  I learned a long time ago, when
field trialing retrievers, that no amount of natural ability can
overcome an unstable temperament. This principle applies even moreso
with pointing breeds. Why? For a number of reasons. 1. The dogs make
bird contact- know the bird is there, and often are eyeball to eyeball
with them. 2. They are dogs of prey. They're looking for prey- hunting
them down. There's alot of genetic instinct that comes rushing to the
fore where good dogs are concerned. 3. When birds flush, are shot mid
air, or run; nature is sending a very strong signal to the dogs brain;
the genetic message is saying get going- get your prey! The more
intense, the more stylish, the harder driving the dogs is; the more
urgent the message is. Lots of dogs have intensity, style and desire,
but what good is it if they can't think, can't concentrate, or
demonstrate a reasonable amount of self control in tense and exciting
environments?  Its of no, or at best, little good. The result almost
always is an extended (often very extended) period of time, (and
expense,) in training the dog. Also, the dog inevitably will have some
problems that can't be worked completely out of him.
This isn't the case with Bob's dogs. My experience with  dogs of his
that I've trained, as well as dogs other people have trained, and I've
had the pleasure to hunt over, is that they are incredibly consistant
in temperament. Very birdy. Very stylish on point. Excellent
retrievers. Exceptionally mellow around people; yet hard hunting and
serious business in the field. To add to this - I have found their
endurance, especially in the heat, to be well above the norm. True to
being a versatile dog; their love for water is awesome! Best of all;
they're just an absolute pleasure to work with. The one's that I
trained were like working with butter. They absolutely cooperate in
every step along the way in their training, demonstrating a good -
joyful attitude throughout all phases.  Very - very easy dogs to
train, with a great sense of satisfaction when you stand back and look
at the finished product. Very stylish and reliable dogs in relatively
short time! This is no accident or someting that can be attributed to
luck. Its the result of Bob's love for the dogs and the sport. Its the
culmination of many years of trial and error, and carefully researched
selective breeding. You're getting the best of the best when you start
a Nobelle dog. From a trainers point of view, I wish every dog in the
kennel trained as easily as Bob's dogs do. I highly recommend getting
to know Bob, his dogs, his breeding program, and the meaning behind
the NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association)  that he
has built his program around. These are supreme dogs. The best of the
best in the hunter's dogs.Whatever, the wait for a pup might be, it is
well worth it. You won't find anyone who owns a Nobelle dog say
otherwise. Check it out for yourself.

A huge thank you to Tim Clark for if it were not for Tim I would not have found the great stud dog Axel von dem Weiden Haus. It was Tim that called me to tell me I had to look at this dog as a potential stud dog. Even though Tim had two stud dogs of his own he was so certain about Axel that he made certain I would give the dog a look. How is that for total unselfishness! Boy was Tim right!  Without question that pairing between Nobelles Double Trouble Dott MH and Axel produced some very nice pups!  I would also like to thank Tim for allowing me to use his dog VC Hans von Burkhart MH. The litter between Hans and Nobelles Jenny produced pups that are very intense on point and they look so good doing it! A picture of Hans can be found on my site in the Stud dog section. If you are looking for a stud dog for your female then do not hesitate to contact Tim for either one of his two males; VC Elk von Burkhart MH or VC Hans von Burkhart. Trust me you will not be sorry!  The only problem you will have is deciding on which dog you will want to use!

I would also like to thank Judy Ziegler for allowing us to use Ch Crystal's up Close N Personal MH AKA Josh. Judy is an outstanding individual extremely dedicated to the breed. Judy's dogs clearly demonstrate the versatility of the breed. Not only do her dogs hunt hard, point with intensity but they look so good doing it. Judy has clearly demonstrated that shorthairs can be both hunting dogs as well as show champions and not to mention great family companions. A picture of Josh can be found on my site under the stud dog section. Thank You!

Charlie Zito. I met Charlie some 5 or 6 years back after he decided on taking a Nobelle puppy from the Dotty and Axel breeding. Prior to Charlie making his decision he came hunting over Dottie. Sometimes it only takes a minute to know that this new person you met will become great friends. I think for us it took about 30 seconds. I am proud to say has become a good friend both in and out of the dog  world.

Finally and certainly not least I would like to thank both Frank Hulsman and Bob Budin.  Frank I have known for some 25 years. The two of us have seen a lot of training brids fly, fired thousands of  22 blanks as well as put a lot of miles on our hunting boots each weekend. Frank it is truly a pleasure to have known you all of these years. I hope we have another 25 years training and hunting together. Bob Budin I have known for about 10 years. Bob is the kind of guy that always puts himelf last, come to think of it his dog too. If you are looking for help with your dog you will not go wrong to contact him. Thanks!

milo.jpg  Bob,I thought I would let you know that I am in South Dakota, Pheasant hunting with Willy. He  and he has made 12 retrieves. Late yesterday I was walking back to the lodge and Willy locked up, a beautiful POINT. I just stood there for a minute enjoying seeing Willy on point. I was hoping for a Rooster but knowing chances leaned toward a hen. I walked up and a big beautiful ROOSTER pheasant took flight, I threw up and fired with this doing GREAT. I have hunted him on a limited basis the past 3 dayse pheasant falling to the ground and Willy running his hardest to follow through with the RETRIEVE. That was worth the entire trip. I love this game. Also, Elvis is doing great. I took him last week for his first booster shots and he now weighs 11 pounds. Also, is Jenny a sister to Willy? I was talking with my trainer last week who keeps up with your web page and he thought maybe Jenny is a litter mate of Willy. Hope you have a great week. Fred Langford

Hi Robert,

Thanks!  I sent in the AKC papers last week.  Eva is doing great!  This is
the easiest puppy I've ever had - she already retrieves to hand, sits, knows
what outside, eat, and drink are, is bold but very cooperative, and looks
like she'll be a natural backer.  She's already using her nose to search,
instead of eyes like most puppies do.  I can chuck her squeeky squirrel all
the way across the yard without her seeing it, point her in the right
direction, tell her to fetch, and she does a blind retrieve.  Her mental
maturity is unbelievable; I keep having to remind myself that she's not 9
months old, even though she acts like it...

Thanks again,

Kit Baugman

Both Tom and I want to express our deepest thanks to you for everything that you did for us right from day one, 6 months ago, when our now developed relationship began. You made our experience with you an extremely pleasant one, as you are very knowledgeable and experienced in breeding. We knew in our hearts that this was not a business for you but a passion and that made everything all the better. We appreciate how you welcomed us into your life and that of Jenny right from the start.

Day by day, you kept us posted via email or instant messaging on Jenny’s progress once she was bred with Josh. Not too soon after, you invited us hunting to see Jenny work. You gave us more tips on hunting and showed us how your dedication pays off with Jenny’s skills and versatility. You instilled your knowledge onto us and now that we have Trooper, everything you told us has helped in many ways. That to my husband and I is something we can never thank you enough for! You met our every expectation and beyond, not only with your knowledge of German Shorthair Pointers, but also in the results of Jenny and Josh’s beautiful litter.

Having Trooper has been great. Already at 7 weeks old, he listens nicely, learns quickly, he is highly intelligent and very eager to please. We see all the great qualities of his mother Jenny in him already. As I mentioned to you before and I will say it again, if Trooper is half as good as his mother, we will be pleased! Nevertheless, having the confidence in your breeding from the start, we know our dog will be just as good!

Again, working with you throughout this entire experience from our initial conversation with you to picking up Trooper was pleasant and enjoyable. You met all of our expectations and we are very grateful for that. We look forward to working, hunting with you in the near future, and seeing what we know as your passion pay off. Thank you again for everything!

With Our Genuine Gratitude & Sincerity,

                                                                                    Jennifer & Thomas Smith

Kate’s personality is as unique as her look.  From the time she was a pup, Kate was lovable and eager to please.  Introduced to birds at the age of 8 weeks and hunting birds by 4 months.  Katie received her NAVHDA Natural Ability title, and her AKC Junior Hunter Title at about one year old. Kate is currently working on her AKC Senior Hunter Title as well as preparing for her NAVHDA Utility test this coming fall.  She is steady to wing and shot and strong when is comes to honoring another dog’s point.  Katie has put it all into one unique little package. Like her mother Nobelles Double Trouble Dott MH, Kate is from a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeders award litter. Her breeder is a firm believer in the NAVHDA system. In fact even before we picked up our Nobelle puppy we had already joined the NAVHDA International.  When we were looking for another puppy we knew we wanted another Nobelle puppy. Speaking to the breeder he had informed me that he was planning a repeat breeding that had already produced a NAVHDA Natural Ability Breeders Award with several from that litter qualifying for this years Invitational.  After much time we finally got the call that the litter finally arrived. After a few minutes looking at the litter we picked our little girl her name is  Nobelles Double Trouble Dutchess. Dutch has the look!  Beauty and brains.  She looked perfect while pointing a bird at 7 1/2 weeks old and topped that look while hunting at the age of 4 ½ months.  She even looks as though she may be a natural backer. She is just as much of a hard working pup as she is adorable.  She appears to have the perfect blend of desire and cooperation.  She has the perfect look to go with the perfect attitude. Dutchess is already scheduled to take her Natural Ability test this coming September.

Needless to say, Kate and Dutchess come from an excellent breeder with year’s experience, tons of knowledge and one who takes pride in his dogs. He keeps you informed with the latest information and pictures from the time the pups are born to the time you pick them up.  It is obvious from the pictures he sends, via email, how well the pups are taken care of and the excellent facilities where the pups are nurtured until the day they find their way to their permanent home; facts that are confirmed when you pick up your pup. With all of the TLC they receive prior to pick up, it stands to reason that the transition to their new home is quite smooth. Post pickup, this breeder makes himself available for any questions or issues that may arise.  He always seems willing to share his experience and knowledge with the new owner of his pups.

It doesn’t end there, your breeder’s interest in the pups continues through their journey of life. He loves pictures of the pups and likes to be kept up to date with every stage of their progress and development as well as how they are hunting.  For those that are interested in using a trainer, he goes as far as hooking you up with a top notch trainer who also keeps your breeder up to date with the latest progress of your pup.  In many instances, you also keep in touch with the new owners of other pups from past Nobelle litters or your pup’s litter. Your trainer also shares his years of experience and knowledge with you.

Acquiring a Nobelles dog is not just buying an excellent hunting dog and loving companion, it is like joining an extended Nobelle/NAVHDA family.

Bob & Family,

Merry Christmas to all of you. This will be our 4th Christmas with "Luke," and I still remember the day we picked him up from you. We were one of the lucky ones to get a pup from a breeder who was soon to become a good friend and a teacher. Not a day goes by that I am not thrilled to have such a fine dog. Luke has become a great hunter and a loving friend. Grandpa and James still hunt (they let Mom come along some times) They walk in the door with a smile every time ... and then I know Luke has done a good job hunting...All of this we owe to you.. You helped a young man and his Mom train a young pup, you helped us achieve a N/A Prize 1 Max score. You showed us training can be done with kindness and a firm mind, not hand. Most of all you helped a young man and his dog truly bond. Even after we brought Luke home, you never forgot us, at training clinics you were always there to lend a hand. The e-mails were always answered, the help never wavered.  Although my job has left us unable to attend the clinics, I know that to this day if we needed you, you would be there.... I hope to someday be lucky enough to have another Nobelleknl dog. A Nobelleknl dog, is a dog you know will be a strong hunter, a great companion and a best friend... a dog you can trust ... truly a Nobelle dog. And you know the man behind the dog is an honest breeder, great trainer and a good friend..

with warmest wishes,

Bob,

Thanks for keeping in touch with the emails.  I hope all is well with you.  I wanted to let you know that Nobelles Schulhaus Belle past her last two test this past weekend to get her Senior Hunter Title.  I am very happy.  This dog is so calm in house, you wonder if she will hunt, then you take her in the field and she is so incredibly hard charging.

Bob,
Just wanted to let you know how surprised and thrilled I was to see Maisy listed as one of your Monthly Spotlight dogs. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you. Maisy has turned out to be everything I had hoped for. She had a strong desire to please and is very stylish in the field. She is the perfect companion and is an integral part of our family. I look forward to lots of days in the New England woods with Maisy. Thanks again.
Best Wishes
